Saturday, March 26: sketching at Nôtre-Dame-de-bon-secours
Please note: because of Easter Sunday, our March sketching outing will be on SATURDAY, March 26!
Location: Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-bon-secours
400 Rue Saint Paul E, Montréal, QC H2Y 1H4
Start time: 11 am when the church opens its doors (main entrance is on rue Saint Paul.
Lunch: 1 pm to 2 pm (there are plenty of restaurants along rue Saint Paul or on Place Jacques Cartier)
End time: before 4 pm when there is a mass at the chapel.
Many thanks to Monique — one of our Sunday sketchers— who has arranged for us to sketch in this very old and very beautiful chapel in the heart of Old Montreal. The kind folks at the church who have given us permission to sketch in the chapel ask us to respect the following rules:
• No eating in the chapel, but water bottles are permitted
• Photography is permitted in the chapel, but no flash
• No easels or chairs are permitted in the aisles of the chapel, but we are welcome to sit in the church pews.
• Please respect the start time of 11 am and the end time of 4 pm

What a wonderful day we had. Two of us from Plattsburgh (New York) Urban Sketchers joined you. We were mightily impressed with the turnout. More of us will come next month. I would have loved to have met you. For lunch my friend Tim and I went to Crepes Suzette and then to the fabulous patisserie across from the Archeology Museum for dessert. We also, unfortunately, missed the sharing of the sketches. We will meet next time. (P.S. last summer I visited Chapel au Bonsecour and did the quickest of sketches and have wanted to go back ever since, –I was just a beginning sketcher then.)
