Sunday Sketching at the Museum of Fine Arts
Sunday sketching is back after a holiday break. This Sunday, January 27, we will be sketching at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. The museum is open at 10 am so let’s meet near the blue Jim Dine sculpture that is situated just to the right of the lobby (I sketched it a few weeks ago). Admission is free if you are visiting the permanent collection only. At noon we’ll meet in the Petit Café for lunch and to share our sketches and then again in the afternoon at 3 pm for a wrap-up. Hope to see you there!
Note: on the Museum website it says you are allowed to sketch in pencil only but I know people who have sketched in ink or even used small watercolour sets. You have to leave all knapsacks in the checkroom so travel light!

If you are sketching with watercolor from a venue outside exhibition areas, for example, by a window looking out in a lobby or passageway, there seems to be no problem as I did so today and guards were passing by with no comment.
